Looming for sometime

I've had this idea scratched on envelopes and in notes books - and finally wrote it! The Three Little Wolves. Needs more 'wacky" but it is a start. So that is 22 of 26!
And i think in March I am going to have a submissions marathon - 15 agents or editors in 31 days! there is so much slush outside a few more trips to the pile can't hurt...

Mini-marathon!

A free day - you would not think a geezer would be so busy that would be special but this is the first day this month with nothing on the calendar square but "marathon writing" - so I did. I am caught up - 21 stories done! Finished the collection on Moses and started on the Jesus ones. Plus worked on an outline for explaining Holy Communion. My fingers are tingling! 5 more before Feb 28 - and a year's worth of rewriting!

Re-inspired!

Met with the Write 6 last night for a much needed session of February Giggles and got a new direction on the Bible story series. The Old Testament has a lot in it! They proposed a book series just of  Moses in the cliff hanger Page Turner format. So I pumped out 3 of those today. Somewhat back on track - have 14 our of 26 done - more than 1/2 way!

2 sermons and 2 stories

Slowed down this week by a couple of sermons with pressing deadlines, but did get a couple of stories done over the weekend for a total now of 12 on day 16 - little catch up needed. This is the week of the newsletter and a Lenten book, but the weather is cooperating to discourage any outdoor distractions!

February 11

Extensive rewrites of Round Food and Shoes! That is 2 stories - not one about Sole Food! But 2 more done.

Caught up and finished!

The last 2 stories for the Page Turner book are done! And that makes 8 total on a Feb 10. My 2 free days are used and I either need to double up or do 1 a day until the end of the month! But it is still cold and I have a bunch of non-biblical ideas to persue. The danger is I love research so much I will get bogged down and never write. Soooooo today I do research!

Feb 5

Nothing like a little Grand Inspiration! The kids love Bible stories I tell with lots of sound effects and the cliff hanger point where they get to guess what happens. The only problem is finding enough Bible princesses and race cars/chariots to keep the locals entertained since I am in Iowa Nana-fying!

So it was easy to punch out David and Goliath (get it?) plus Solomon's choice today! I just write the way I talk!

Two more done - a day ahead in anticipation of some lost days this weekend as I travel.

Feb 4

Now broadcasting live from Central Iowa where - yes! - it is snowing!

But I am writing about the Middle East so that helps. More sand. I just finished 2 more stories for the page turn series: Joseph forgives his brothers and God leads the israelites out of Egypt featuring 10 plagues! In full color!

Aside on Joseph - when I told that story in China the teachers were very sure I had it wrong. In that culture to be a strong ruler meant taking full revenge and never forgiving. Interesting....

Feb 1

Feb 1 I managed to get 2 stories done I case today was crazy - it was! These are stand alone books or chapters of a collection of Page Turners - Bible stories for kids with a cliff hanger in the middle, requireing them to turnthe page to see what happens. Finished Adam and Eve are sent from the Garden and Noah is a Laughing Stock.
