2015 - the Big One!

New year - ready for action!

Just sent off 3 manuscripts to editors/agents from our SCBWI fall meeting, applied for the Laura Crawford mentorship and send a first page critique application for January. I am also working on a Grown Up travel piece for a contest - and Sunday's sermon!

a very scary month!

The submission record excel spreadsheet hold so many possibilities. I have submitted 4 different stories to 8 agents or publishers. Launched into cyber space - and no hope of a reply unless they are interested. But there is no hope of anything if they don't go out! So encouraged by the sunshine I'll put myself out there...  

the end and the beginning

I finished #26 last night - lots of Bible stories this time but that project has been hanging around for years so some real progress got made. February also had several sermons, a newsletter and Lent devotional guide. Now I am setting my own goal for March: Submission Marathon! 15 stories submitted to agents or editors in 31 days! Starting tomorrow....

Looming for sometime

I've had this idea scratched on envelopes and in notes books - and finally wrote it! The Three Little Wolves. Needs more 'wacky" but it is a start. So that is 22 of 26!
And i think in March I am going to have a submissions marathon - 15 agents or editors in 31 days! there is so much slush outside a few more trips to the pile can't hurt...

Mini-marathon!

A free day - you would not think a geezer would be so busy that would be special but this is the first day this month with nothing on the calendar square but "marathon writing" - so I did. I am caught up - 21 stories done! Finished the collection on Moses and started on the Jesus ones. Plus worked on an outline for explaining Holy Communion. My fingers are tingling! 5 more before Feb 28 - and a year's worth of rewriting!

Re-inspired!

Met with the Write 6 last night for a much needed session of February Giggles and got a new direction on the Bible story series. The Old Testament has a lot in it! They proposed a book series just of  Moses in the cliff hanger Page Turner format. So I pumped out 3 of those today. Somewhat back on track - have 14 our of 26 done - more than 1/2 way!

2 sermons and 2 stories

Slowed down this week by a couple of sermons with pressing deadlines, but did get a couple of stories done over the weekend for a total now of 12 on day 16 - little catch up needed. This is the week of the newsletter and a Lenten book, but the weather is cooperating to discourage any outdoor distractions!
